Clinical Dental Technician
Stephen started as an apprentice with Dental Design in Langport in 1987 and gained his qualifications in Dental Technology at the Cardiff School Of Dental Technology – Dental Technician BTEC National Diploma in Dental Technology in 1993.
He has had a passion for Dental Technology that has developed from the age of 16 since starting his apprenticeship at Dental Design. After Qualifying at Cardiff this passion then mixed with a love of prosthetics and Stephen has dedicated himself to this field ever since. All-on-four and implant retained dentures have been of particular interest and Stephen has developed extensive knowledge in this field.
With many years’ experience working as a Dental Technician, Stephen as a Clinical Dental Technician has the advanced technical and clinical skills needed to carefully design and hand-craft every denture to the individual requirements of the patient.
His position allows him to offer patients direct treatment for the construction, repairing and fitting of removable dental appliances. Whilst dentist and clinical dental technicians work independently of each other, they may confer in treatments when it is in the best interest of the patient.
To construct aesthetically pleasing dentures with comfort and function is one of hardest tasks in dentistry. We are not only replacing lost teeth, but also compensating for bone loss and very often sunken facial profiles, which can age patients up to 10 years prematurely. Careful, calculated consideration of each individual’s anatomy is essential for outstanding results to be gained in this delicate area.
Steve can take referrals from you for your patients who need full or partial dentures, repairs, additions etc.
He provides a bespoke service to your patients, seeing them at the practice and is able to do fast turn arounds if necessary. We believe that working directly with the clinician and discussing issues and concerns face to face gives the patient a much better final result and makes the whole process much smoother.
